Description I’ve known the South;
I’ve known the South, stubborn as can be but polite and proper like china teacup clinking saucer.

My soul has grown proud like the South.

I was reared in the heart of Dixie, with an intrinsic love for corn bread baked round with crispy edges.
I was raised on peaches and Southern accents said to be more Shakespearean than a Yorkshire.
I am as Southern as the Pakistani flag; Muhammad (peace be upon him) is Allah’s messenger, and crispy beef samosas are still way better than pecan pie.
Yet I always wanted to sleep on Spanish moss, the kind that dangles from Savannah trees.

I’ve known the South:
It may not be my homeland, but it’s the place I call home.

My soul has grown proud like the South.

Well, I was a bit surprised by the title, alright.

I can't criticize your work much in a literary standpoint, since I'm not well-versed in poetry, but to me, this piece just shows you that even if you were born in a different place, home is the place you grew up in, and it defines you as who you are as a person.

Good job.
