Make a graphic novel. That's just the thing. Have you ever seen or read Maison Ikkoku? It's a manga and anime by Rumiko Takahashi, and the story comes as close to a real life, patient, devoted, relationship as a graphic novel can get. It doesn't mention God or anything, but to my mind it still represents very much what love is. I thought you could find it a source of inspiration.
