Rutherford Ritchey is a native Chicagoan. He's led a tough life. From a young age he was involved with gangs. He was even fortunate enough to survive the great gang wars of the early 2,000's when most gangs in the U.S. found themselves suddenly under the thumb of various super-villains. Unfortunately for him, he distinguished himself as a competent, violent enforcer during those conflicts. It was almost inevitable some villain would choose him for a super-powered henchman. When his "inner super-villain" was unleashed, imagine his surprise when he found himself transformed into leonine, centaur-like creature. He'd never been across the border to Canada, much less overseas to Africa, but that made little difference.

Christened Tsavo (land of slaughter), after the region where the two famous man-killing lions, Ghost and Darkness wreaked havoc, many years before, he began his career as a super-powered henchman. If Rutherford was violent, Tsavo was ten times worse. His bloodlust could barely be contained and it wasn't long before his gang cut ties with him for their own safety. Since then, Tsavo has been in service to one villain or another, until they cut him loose for bringing too much attention to their schemes, due to his penchant for massacring anyone who gets in his way.

Tsavo has a relatively simple, yet lethal powerset. He's inhumanly strong, fast and comes equipped with powerful claws. His senses are superhuman as well and he possesses the ability to regenerate injury. Unfortunately, he is also possessed of a murderous temperament and while he isn't stupid by any means, he tends to get overcome by anger and bloodlust, drawing immediate attention from the authorities and super-humans. As of yet, Tsavo has avoided capture and continues his criminal ways.
