Sable’s name was changed a long time ago, like Nira, to separate her from several characters of the same name, but mostly because her original namesake (Rouge from Capcom’s Power Stone franchise) is a now far cry from what she’s been redesigned into. I’m making my inspirations a little more obscure and a lot less obvious.
Her empty eye socket has a new origin story. She’s no longer a mysterious psychic, just a scrappy bounty hunter that lost her right eye while capturing a violent fugitive. She also now wears an eyepatch, rather than relying on just her hair to cover the missing eye.
Sable’s hair is longer. Because the person that tried to steal and gender-swap her in the early 2000’s says sAiLoR mErCuRy WaNtS hEr hAiR bAcK lmao (if you’re gonna try to steal my art or my characters, make up your fuckin mind about whether you like it or not). She’s also in a relationship with Nira.
