Apparently, people outside the barrier have found really effective ways to hide from giants. Either that, or humans are just extremely unobservant. Or...there...aren't any more people left...Whatever. Having a decorative, huge, almost white tower to live in is great! Living underground or hidden amongst the leaves wouldn't be so dignified.
Having to worry about hiding an entire village sounds insane. We shouldn't even begin to worry about those things, dealing with one human is more than enough right now.
