Beth really could have done a lot better, like choosing the building style at least. Would love to build a dwemer manor.
Only real advantage of having a house is having all you need in 1 place (crafting stations in the basement, enchanting and alchemy tables on the main hall, garden for ingredients).

Skyrim Hearthfire is kinda like The Sims, with building a family life and house and job and such.

Or you could just adopt them and leave them at home, since there is no actual RAISING the kids. ... Speaking of which, is there a mod for that? I might download it when I run out of things to do.

I'm still wondering how sims reproduce... just a bit of smoochies and then a baby comes flying trough the window straight to your arms... darn psychic stork.

Depends what version of the game you are speaking of-Sims 2 was a bit more normal-not by much, but still

Of course, the Sims didn't have you fighting dragons and giants that attacked your home, rescue kidnapped spouses from bandits ...

They could've at least put some more detail in your three houses you can build, make them look different on the outside for the area you're in, maybe a different look to it like a log house or something… and the inside have different decorations. And in Windstad manor ( at least for me ), they could've gotten rid of those two draugr corpses by my stable! But NOOOO, every house is the same! And your kids complain that the dawnstar manor is too cold, or Windstad is too scary ( which you really can't judge for since you build it not far from a barrow ), your wife is always getting kidnapped for ransom when every bandit is practically screwed when you get above a dwarven or elven sword, so why even try?! Just stay in the nine holds, let the guards deal with it, at least then you won't get skeever infestations or giants standing by your animal pen. But it always does have some advantages and new items, which I can't complain about.

Yeah, that's pretty much Hearthfire in a nutshell.

I admit, though, I bought it. Came out like two days before I got the best news of my life, so I was feeling a bit crazy, I guess. Fun enough once you have it, though...now, if only I could get my armory to stop glitching.

But wait till the new DLC to hit Skyrim <3 So stoked!
