I have studied only basic of photography, so I will critique only things I am more familiar with - composition. I think, the photo would give a greater visual impact if the butterfly was off center, which would make the photo more interesting. Also the lower wing going out of frame distracts the viewer from the butterfly it self. The patterned texture of the butterfly's wings draws the viewers attention to it and its blue eye makes for a great focus point. The blurred out background makes it really stand out, and gives the viewers eyes an area to rest.
