Description

It's been a while since I uploaded an actual animation for the episode here! So with that I decided to upload the one I worked on last
evening and the whole morning. I kinda find front views easier than back views then again not having to draw the face on front is kinda
fun for once XD ( faces take a while XD) . anyways I really am happy how this one turned out! Just wanna point something out before
people say so. The wolf is fading out, I didn't forget to animate more lol! But in the episode you'll see why, it's difficult to show this way
and i'm not planning on uploading the finished result of this animation for reasons unknown x3 Just gotta fix a little error on the front
paws and i'll be happy ;w; Also the red lines in case you wonder what that is for, they help me with animating in perspectives. I have
discalculation and with that a very hard view on perspectives, but the red lines was something an old teacher of me gave as advice for
drawing benches and buildings and since then I kinda use it for animations like these x3 It works great for me at least it does! Also the
wolf is having a blue line art rather than red again due to the background XD One last thing I want to point out, the animation goes faster
in the episode, photoshop just makes it as slow as it it xD I was to lazy to make a flash file :c  Aside from that only the end of the animation
is supposed to be slow as the character kinda fades out in a slightly slow motion like way x3

really good. I was wondering do you ref real animals in movement ( like in gif files) or just sorta draw them?

AzureHowlShilach In reply to Firefilly1996 [2016-11-13 13:53:54 +0000 UTC]

Just draw them I do study movement from footage but  that's only for movement, after that it's just drawing it yourself in the position you desire x3
For example this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAiZST… gives a pretty good view on canines running, I usually base my movements
of dogs due to lack of wolf footage :'D  But animating this is impossible if you haven't studied the movements of the animals or so I believe o3o

Gotcha. That helps. I find personally that I do best with GIF files of animals. Though it is difficult with horses at times. The animations in my head aren't all that feasible.

aaah well but you should study the movement, copying poses on a gif file won't be to helpful ;w; Because you'll basically be
copying the gif

Gotcha I only do that for the hard animations. Most of the time I look at an anatomy chart/videos I have in my room. I'm vet tech student and i'm studying anatomy and physiology at the moment also. I think the hardest pose for me is a cycle from the back or directly in front. I know sometimes i'll bend the rules of anatomy. My bf's oc is a Pegasus with cat like tendencies so he can bend his hooves like a cat would a paw something impossible in equines.  I know I do tend to do what I call "ball and stick" method. Idk if it's a real animation term ot not, but it helps me to outline the joints and general shape of what i'm going for.

Yo your animation is doing great Shilach! Your animations that you are working on really surprise me alot! Smoothing animations can be very hard, but in anime? Idk what it called xD I don't think
anime had smoothing animations just like step by step xD if you know what I mean... So keep up the good work!

AzureHowlShilach In reply to Ardnak [2016-11-11 20:31:54 +0000 UTC]

awww ;w; thanks Practice is the key, lots of it ;w; and studying the animal you
want to animate or human ;w; I studied wolves in zoo's to learn their movements,
sketching them also helps a lot, like when I was in school I had to go every wensday to
the zoo to draw animals, and it was a good practice!

Your animation is just wonderfully!!! I wonder, you taught yourself (alone) to use the programme or someone else taught you? What programme did you use?

Thanks I taught myself, and I use sony vegas atm ^^ When I began animating it was
