Description The larger subdivisions are Provincial Regions and the smaller subdivisions are Territorial Prefectures. These are both micro and macro representations of the same concept; that is the grouping of areas around common ecology, geography, resources, climate, culture, and settlement. While the Prefectures are fairly accurate representations of ecologically & geographically distinct areas, the borders of the Provinces are by no means fixed, and I welcome discussion of "what should go where" as even I can envisage variations.

It is. The map was actually done with the aid of work by one of the leading resources on Cascadia. I could look it up and direct you to the source material if you're interested in learning more. As for my variation, the borders aren't set in stone. The commonly observed territory is the watershed of the Cascade Mountain Range, as shown in the map above, but I personally would go as far south as Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, and some do. As for my Provinces, the borders could be adjusted, but the but the borders of the Prefectures are likely correct, and I tried to have an equal number of them per Provincial Region.

OK. It's very cool. I'll look it up later.
