Description ... soon you won't.

I was inspired to do this after reading up on the South China Tiger, which is the rarest tiger and thought to be the sub-species all other tiger sub-species originated from. It's virtually extinct in the wild, and so few exist in zoos that there's not much of a gene pool left, but hopefully the efforts being made to save it aren't too late. Anyway, it's a really amazing looking tiger and I've not done it justice at all but it was fun to try, and it was good practice at acrylics. Took way longer then it should have, but what can you do?

I was able to finish this just in time to submit it on my first deviantART anniversary! WOOT!

EDIT: Sorry for the line from where this lil' bastard had to get stiched together. Thought I fixed it up but apparently it didn't want to cooperate

Random question, did you use a fan brush on the fur? It looks like it.

Nice work! I admire the eyes the most.

Actually, I used some incredibly cheap brushes my friend gave me a few years back with really stiff frayed bristles, but I think I should probably invest in one! Thanks for commenting!

Your welcome, and we have several types of fan brushes.. I find them excellent for blending, but the old stiff frayed ones are perfect feathers (like the ones in the hat for my Red Death painting) and fur.
