To be honest I don't know who he's reaching for  I just kinda doodled a cool pose and thought "Take My Hand" would be a fitting title.  But if I had to come up with an answer on the spot I'd like to think he's reaching out to save Sonic from peril. That seems like a nice interesting role reversal. Since Sonic is usually the one playing the hero.

I kinda interpretted it as reaching out to an anti-villain, offering them a chance at redemption or something.

I'm a bit of a sucker for redemption arcs. I think the idea of giving the villains a chance to be better is an important part of a hero, as is the ability to rise above past misdeeds.

True but it is always important to maintain at least one character you can root against.
Otherwise what is your protagonist fighting against?

Well it depends on the villain, really. There might be a villain who needs saving from themselves, but then you get characters like Scourge (Killed his father before his thirteenth birthday for not paying attention to him, attempted to use his Super form to destroy two planets for kicks), or Mephiles (Ate the universe) who fill that role perfectly.

It's worth noting that most of the sympathetic antagonists in Sonic either reform on their own (Chaos, Shadow) or are only antagonists to due to something affecting their minds (Ultimate Emerl/Gemerl), so there's not much to work with at least within the SEGAverse. Branch out into comics and cartoons and you get a little more diversity. Unfortunately, the biggest example there is the Archie comic, where fallen friends like Fiona (Who would be a perfect fit for this scene) or Geoffrey are treated with less respect or sympathy than the irredeemable monsters among their rogues gallery.

It takes me a while to draw machines/robots. I once drew the tornado, it took me ages.

I haven't drawn that many machines, but I should probably start practicing them considering I want to use a lot of mechanical things in my comic.
