Description
You may be wondering why I don't specify the Brother's ages in these pictures, but there's a reason for that! Taurra'auric elves (which is the Brothers species) don't exactly "age." Because they live so long, it's kind of pointless to keep track of yearly numerical values. Instead they classify their growth by defining the various stages of life.

1) Day stage- Birth/ when they are given their namesake
2) Run (pronounced rune) stage- Early childhood. Noted for high levels of energy as they constantly absorb the energy around them to grow.
3) Sky stage- Early Puberty. Characterized by rapid growth spurt.
4) Mid stage- Teen phase. Notably more mellow than Human teenagers, but still restless and having rebellious outbursts.
5) Twi stage- Young adulthood. Most rebellious phase, nearing full maturation where they grow into their ears, and are most likely to declare their rite of passage in the household.
6) See stage- Matured adult. Characterized by finding balance in their attitudes, have the possibility to develop the ability to begin having visions of the future/distant places in the present.
7) Fay stage- Milestone. Noted by the elf's survival until their 1st fallen leaf cycle (that might not sound like much but it's a big deal in their society)
And there are others stages after that, but you don't need to know about those because they get too far off topic for right now XD
Just a side note here, that if you see more than one stage associated with an elf, then that means that their growth has been stunted at some point and it has taken them twice as long to mature (physically, the mental status is an entirely separate thing) This can be cause by a traumatic event such as injury/grief (you'll find out other specific cases later on though)

Anyways, on with the background story!

Last but not least we have Ka’zaru’metar’uwarui, (roughly translated to English means "Special misunderstood heir of untold potential") Ukar'russa'nactu'araor (meaning "destined to become great in their own rite") or Kazuma Ukara for short. Kazuma has a bit more of an unfortunate background than his brothers. He had come as a surprise to his family because technically he was not even supposed to have been born because only 3 boys were supposed to have been born based on the Magic Cycle of Sons (which I won't bore you with the detail of what that is right now because you'll find out about it later). As the runt of the identical quadruplet litter, (which is not only bad luck in the Taurra'auric society), Kazuma got stuck with the role as the detraction maker for his brother's team. Because it was so difficult to tell which brother was which (as was the curse that plagued his father's family for generations), he was identified by having his hair tied in a simple pony tail to symbolize that he was the last Brother. Though it was his older brother's jobs to come up with and oftentimes execute all of the mission they went on, Kazuma was left with distracting the enemy long enough for them to get the job done. As tradition dictates, when he was old enough to wield a weapon, he inherited a set of family heirlooms that had belonged to one of his ancestors on his mother's side. As such, he became the swordsman of the team, despite the fact that he mostly remained a pacifist, only fighting when it was absolutely necessary for him to do so because he did not posses any magic or have a specific skill in combat. But that did not mean that he was entirely useless. In fact he was a remarkable swordsman, he was just too timid to try and prove it.

However, after the tragic accident that left them dishonored and banished from their homeland, having been the cause of his brothers shame and being scarred for life by it, Kazuma convinces the Brothers that it was best if they never saw each other again, and went his separate way. (you'll find out the details in the actual story) In order to escape from a relentless group of bounty hunters that had been sent after him, ( Unaware that his other brothers were in danger because all of the Brothers look exactly identical and the hoard of men who searched far and wide for them had mistaken the other three Brothers as the intended target) Kazuma flees to the farthest reaches of the nation. Unable to escape his fate for long, Kazuma soon finds himself cornered by a gang of bounty hunters near the port town of Sharks's Tooth. Fortunately for him, he had stowed away on a valuable ship, and his capture was interrupted when a group of Pirates came to raid the ship. Upon discovering the stowaway, the pirate captain recruits Kazuma as a new swashbuckler for the crew and takes him out of the nations waters. His whereabouts were unknown for a long period of time as he went on countless untold adventures. Along the way, Kazuma trains endlessly, learning new skills on his journey, both as a swordsman, and also as a magic-wielder. Soon he built up quite a big reputation as his strength (and his curse) grows into unimaginable proportions, and was feared as one of the strongest men alive. Eventually he winds back in his home nation, and goes back on the run from the bounty hunters who have not given up their pursuit of him. Quickly running out of places to hide, Kazuma returns to the one place he was forbidden from ever returning to, only to find that things had changed almost as much as he had......
