Description
As I promised, I drew Sheik the way she looked in Ocarina of Time, using the same reference that I did for Link. I'm not as happy with her as I was when drawing Link, though :/. I think I made the shading a bit too dark in some places. But oh well, it's hard to change shading so there's no going back now.I hope you guys enjoy this one, anyway. -crosses fingers-

I wouldn't say that I'm truly an artist until I've learned to draw from my own imagination, and not recreating another artwork made by someone else. It's really hard for me to bring what I have in mind onto paper. XD

Shading is tricky, I could never get it as dark as I want it to be.

I really like this one! You know, a dark shading means that you have some confidence with the drawing and you're not afraid to darken it; it took me a lot to realize this, but the lesson is: the darker the drawing, the better the result (and of course the improvement of your drawing skill).

Oh, just wanted to share some wisdom from my teacher (and my actual experience, too)

Because Sheik is a disguise worn by Princess Zelda. She uses an illusion to fool the naked eye of anyone who sees her so that she looks male, but retains her female form behind the ruse. The alter ego of Sheik is to be male, but the true physical form is female.

It takes practice. One thing I used to do to get better was to make grids on pictures, and focus on the detail of each square individually.

It really helps. One of the best things I've ever drawn was created that way. Unfortunately, it got lost some time ago when I last moved, so I can't post it here. :/

Sheik is how you SHOULD represent a strong female character. She's a bad ass, but does show off her boobs. She's strong and treated with respect. We need more characters like her in the Nintendo universe!
