“MAZANKADA BIR QULÜBE”
Мазанка — село в Симферопольском районе Республики Крым, основанное в 1784 году отставными солдатами Русской армии как Санкт-Петербургские Мазанки (на следующий год после Присоединения Крыма к Российской Империи ). Село расположено в живописной долине реки Бештерек . Главные достопримечательности Мазанки: красивый Свято-Никольский храм (1830) и археологический памятник Волчий грот (первая на территории Российской Империи палеолитическая стоянка древних людей мустьерской культуры , обнаруженная в 1880 году русским археологом Константином Мережковским ).
Mázanka (Russian for “clay-plastered adobe-brick house”) is the name of a village in the Simferopol Raion of the Republic of Crimea (Russia). It was founded in 1784 as Saint-Petersburg Mazankas by retired Russian army soldiers one year after Crimea became part of the Russian Empire . The village lies in the picturesque Beshterek River valley and is best known for its beautiful Saint Nikolai Church (1830) and the archaeological site in the Wolf Grotto (the first ever Paleolithic-era Mousterian site discovered in the Russian Emprire by Russian archaeologist Konstantin Mereschkowski in 1880).

I spent 10 years of my life training in classical art schools, painting and drawing en plein air a lot, so leaving anything blank was not an option)

Oh wow, I'm envious, the closest I've come to getting an artistic education was a basic art class when I was in high school. 10 years is a huge commitment, you must be very passionate about your work. Would you happen to have any sage advice for a novice when it comes to creating landscapes/backgrounds?

Any wise advice... let me think... okay, here it is:
Paint and draw freely, with no inhibitions. Never be afraid of failing or doing something wrong.
A million years ago my art teacher, a respected artist himself, told my parents in a private conversation that I completely lacked in artistic talent and if I went to fine arts college, I'd make a fool of myself and get expelled in no time. Years later, in 1999, that selfsame teacher stopped by a gallery while my first personal exhibit was on, and you should've seen the look in his eyes. For me to see him there, it was well worth the wait) So the last piece of advice is:
Never give a sh** about what someone says about your artistic abilities.

Спасибо. Мазанка (осн. в 1784) - первое русское село Крыма после его присоединения к Российской империи. Там много старых хаток, прямо на улицах стоят старинные деревянные колодцы. А природа вокруг - сказка.
