2nd Commission work for1/4 matte painting for the landscape and the rest are painted normally with the Washington map as the reference..and sure it takes 10 Hours to did it..LOL
,and yes I cut couple of street blocks between the Washington monument and the Capitol.and please don't ask me about the rest of the Important Buildings such as the Fed and the National Museum, this piece is only focusing on The Monument, Capitol and the White House..

This is an amazing concept, executed with a lot of originality and artistic licence all in a good way. The translucent dragon of light is a great contrast with the very realistic background. Excellent perspective and colours. It makes the magic seem real.
The smoke from the dragon's attacks on the Capitol seem to have spent some time rising vertically, but the dragon seems to be in a dynamic pose suggesting rapid movement (quickly passing through this pose). If the dragon is not moving then the smoke makes sense. I can't quite figure out if the beam to the White House is coming or going. Perhaps the dragon fired that way before blasting the Capitol (a sequence of laser-like blasts would suggest rapid movement). Perhaps a blast-radius cloud of dust/smoke would be better.
The picture seems full of symbolism but it's not obvious what is symbolized. Something destroying Washington, but it looks pure and white. The ambiguity works well for me.

I agree on EVERY point. Especially the part about the symbolism. I like being able to take what I want from a picture instead of being told what the picture means.
