Based on fact! Whales have sunk the small boats that go out to harpoon them. I've also read about whales attacking the big 'Mother Ships' and, in at least one case, sinking it. I'm cheering for the whales!

Oh, that's really scary! It seems like they are very intelligent creatures.

So many animals are more intelligent than we give them credit for, maybe with different kinds of intelligence. The Octopus, I read, is the most intelligent of all.
I have a theory - why not - that the reason Mars has no water is that a comet pushed it out of its orbit and it approached Earth for a violent exchange of electrical discharges, causing the Great Rift in Africa, maybe the Grand Canyon, the huge gash on mars, and other scars. Which, likely, is why legend talks about Mars as the God of War. Anyway, Earth being bigger sucked up all of Mars water causing the Earth's worldwide Biblical flood and, at the same time seeding our waters with the ancestor of the octopus. Science starts out as speculation and scientific truths are often discarded and new ideas poo-pooed until suddenly becoming dogma. So maybe one event caused the other and one day the dates may be adjusted to coincide.
