Hmmm.... ideas for bg and color... letΒ΄s see... ItΒ΄s COLD out there, snowy, so it would be nice to keep the whole scene in blues, greys and whites, all wintery colors... In my "vision" of the finished picture (and the idea would be REALLY worth to be taken further!) the only warm colors, some earthy browns, are used on the pyramid and the Jaguar. It would connect them as "survivors" of a distant, "better" past... Think this would suit the concept... Hope I was some help
And now I HAVE TO say this: I am sorry, it is ABSOLUTLY ridiculous, I know, but... It looks as if there was a little beetle sitting on the Jags hand, with him looking at the little fella! XD Once again: IΒ΄m sorry, did not inted to destroy the great atmosphere of this sketch by this silly comment, but I just could not keep my mouth shut...

Anry is such a wonderful fellow... he did so much great stuff that I moan everytime I see his page because I'm so curious to know where he went off to... I hope nothing bad happened to the guy.
This piece... Damn but it's cool. It has a great feel to it, even for the sketch. I like the idea very much, but I think there will be things to question yourself on later if you decide to finish this one out. Jaguar is fine as he is... I'd like to ask if he's got his leggings stuffed with lichens or what have you. The return of the God seems a very fine fantasy story in the making. Is that a cricket he's got in his hand? Your details are superb even in this stage.
Ah well, as far as the rest of it, you know what tundra looks like I'm sure, or you can get good references. The land might be a bit hillier than one normally thinks of tundra, but the flat ground leading off to the temple (I think it was a massive hill top/ mountain top with a flat surface at the peak) would be a wonderful way to show the strange new world. His look is fantastic. The sketch makes his clothes look ragged, and that's another fine detail point for your back story... it shows an immense passage of time, even for a God.
But hey, I'm sure I've run away with your idea. *s* You keep this up and I'm telling you... I'll have a story written before either of us notice it.

I love the composition. I think gray tinted colourse would work well. Blue-gray, green-gray... And of course different tints and shades of gray itself. Use a lot of contrast; that makes me think of harshness and the cold of winter.

yes yes blues and grays and mebbe slight hints of coldish green. Not sure whether to do a daytime or nightime scene...I see a daytime scene as being somehow more cold feeling but the atmospehere would have to be planned out carefully to have the right effect. Thank you for your suggestions!
