Description started as a rough oc sketch but I wanted to clean it up and just..have fun with it..see where it went on its own without overthinking or planning it. I had fun and it was a good way to practice canines..which for those of you who haven't noticed, I don't draw an over abundance of XD! I think, though, they arrreee growing on me and I am learning a lot with each time I attempt to draw a wolf/fox/what have you.

I do welcome constructive criticism on any pieces I do, however if you do leave criticism please give me something helpful to work with instead of "this or that looks off"..that really aggravates me more than it helps me. We all have room to grow and improve and I am always excited at the chance to learn something new ! OH and if anyone has the names of any good books for canine references, please speak up; that would be very helpful! Thank ya in advance.

The idea behind this piece is the wolf is waiting for someone, just who, I will leave to interpretation. The pedestal he is sitting on is a sundial and I did incorporate the symbols of the elements used in the film "the Fifth Element" because I adore that movie to bits and it has brainwashed me completely. Also I would like to thank some of the canine artists out there that kinda nudged me and inspired me with their beautiful rendition of canines (thornwolf, Dark Natasha, and Goldenwolf to name a few), without your inspiration I doubt I would have become so smitten with canines.

I be supposing thats all for now!

Size: roughtly 10x10 inches
tools: mechanical pencil, q-tip on bristol paper (I LOVE MY NEW .3 mm pencil!! )
time 5 hours? I watched a movie while I drew!

Nice and cute image. Wolf legs have delighted me . appearance and originality that you've given is great. the cane gives a touch to the picture. its tail is great and where this supported the wolf.Flowers and plants loved . your picture is fantastic . someday would like to see a color, it would be fantastic , but that's your decision.
and wolf fur is beautiful, no words to describe it, I am a lover of werewolves and your drawing has impacted me.I would love to see more werewolves drawn by you. that if I would like . finally, the wolf will stay perfect and beautiful

The details are just amazing. For some reason, the carvings on the staff really stood out to me when I was looking at this. And the longer I look, the more the rest of the picture surprises me. Well done.

The back and the hind paw closest to us are the only things I see that are off, the paw just looks odd, but I'm no expert, it could be fine. The back curves out a little odd and it looks like he has a turtle shell for a back xD Other than that I really love it

A good book for canines and other North American mammals in general is Drawing Wildlife by J.C. Amberlyn. Its great because it has many mini tutorials in it as well as background and anatomy info for each mammal.

I remember this from so long ago! It's nice to finally find the artist who created it ( not that I found it posted by someone else, I had just long since forgotten under who's name it was! ). This is still beautiful!

The paws/feet/hands are wonderful and you did fantastic. I also love the staff and decorations. I only have two things points that you could improve on.

1. The nose/muzzle of the wolf seems crooked as the nostrils are on a much steeper incline than the angle of the eyes. Still, the nose is drawn very well

2. The tail seems like it is made of leaves rather than fur. You did a great job creating a soft texture on the head and paws, but that same softness was lost with the tail.

You did great and I really like this.

I appreciate the critique, though it should be said the piece is a few years old now and looking at it now, I cannot help but cringe seeing all the mistakes I made x)!!

Your highlights and lowlights are very clean! The only thing that seems off to me about the piece are that the eyes seem a little too close together. (The thigh dagger looks a little phallic, but, that's just me) Beautiful piece <3

this is beautiful...the detail is amazing (i love "Fifth Element" too!! ) and i love the wolf's expression...the only thing that i can see is that the hind feet look a little big...but they are still drawn perfectly anatomy wise and everyone has their own style i suppose...it's a beautiful picture nonetheless

It's really good!!! Although the nose, it looks like it's a little too much to the left. At least to me it looks like that. Other than that... it's amazing! So yeah the muzzle seems to be the only place for a bit of improvement. Tweaking it to the right might help. Keep drawing I enjoy your work! ^^

I think it's beautiful! More and more, I've found a liking for anthro wolves and this is one of the best I've seen.

By the way, did you say .3 mm? Wow, I didn't know they made them that small. The right lead must be difficult to find though.

Beautiful picture. The detail of the muscles are quite nice. I would probably move the tail a little bit up or down so it wouldn't make a tangent with the bottem of the base of the chair. But all else I say it's a great piece.
