Mohadden is born into the Dusklands, a rocky climate which keeps a sky of ash and clouds. He's the joy, the crown prince, until he causes a terrible accident which sets forth a set of events in which his parents are lost and the throne is taken over by savages.
Eventually the horrible circumstances lead him to flee his birth land, and he ends up in the pridelands, in the safety of Lion Guard Leader Vitani. She takes him in and raises him as her own, and in time he's even given a potential new role: Crown Prince. This is due to Queen Kiara not having had children in her twenty year rule, and he accepts the position grudgingly, feeling a sense of honor and duty to the pride who has been so kind to him.
All of his worry is for nothing, though- as at long last Kiara has healthy twins and he is relieved of the expectations on him.
But the release from this role spurts a question in his mind: would he have been a good king?
He decides to find out, taking several pride members with him.
Eventually the throne is his and he rules a great many years with his wife by his side.
