Black and white works very well on it, and the high contrast.
I'd like to see it either i) at a lvel angle, or ii) cropped so that the birds take up the whole shot, but it works well like it is.

Thank you, and the thing is, it's not really black and white, check out the lower right corner, there is some greenish grass.
And, I've got some photos of it at a level angle, they are not too impressive..

Its a great shot over all. The use of black and white make it just right with the darkened shadows and display.
