Description "Why are you crying, Anakin?" "Because I have an unbalanced grandson who idolizes all the mistakes I made".

Wasn't Anakin Skywalker the one who should have brought balance to the Force? Didn't Luke Skywalker symbolize redemption for his father and for his whole family? Where does the madness of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo come from???
"I will finish what you started..." what the hell Kylo, didn't you know that your grandfather turned back to the light side before he died, destroying the dark side???

I liked "The Force Awakens", but the revelation that Kylo Ren is the son of Han and Leia only means to me that every single Skywalker must be erased from the galaxy, for he could turn out to be the plague of the universe.
Dear J.J. Abrams, you made a great movie, but the story makes no sense. And it's sad. VERY sad.

Wow!  I love star wars and this wonderful tribute to how bad choices mess up people life.   Anakin path to darkside might not happen if Mace told Anakin stay with Padme or Anakin could play smart know that evil man is lying to him so he could help get into power.   It such sad  story of his down fall you think history would learn that choices like this destroy your life but some lessons are not learn.  Just look at Ben solo. I never understood what Luke was thinking when try to kill his sister's son.  This was act of never think Luke would ever do.  Luke risk his life bring father back darkside yet he could not do so son of sister. It such mess up story.  The only thing think that could happen was some evil took over Luke make do it and back to himself it was to late.   He never tell what happen because something very shame of.  Even Han try to bring son back from dark place he went but son was to far gone. If dies will skywalker line end with him or does Luke have child of his own that not known by anyone?  Anyway hope you like my comment and I thank you for this wonderful tribute to  star wars.

The tragedy of Anakin's fate was him choosing to be a heartless slave to a cruel master in order to save his loved ones.
I doubt Ben understood this part of his grandfathers history. However, I can see Han's disbelief in the Force slowly eroding his confidence abd sense of identity and Leia not knowing how to be a parent to a force sensitive child. Kylo Ren was born out of a desperate need to be his own man and not a "slave" of his legacy.
There's rumours of Rey being Anakin reincarnated or born of the force. I prefer the latter theory as it would be a rewrite of Anakins fate.

My theory for why he turned to the dark side is that Luke just didn't have enough information about his father. He didn't know what mistakes made Anakin Vader, so history repeats itself with Luke's nephew. Also, Leia is going to be much more bitter at her father than Luke, so that might contribute to it. On the plus side, my money is on the idea that Rey is Luke's daughter, with the two symbolizing their grandfather's light and dark sides

I keep thinking about how heartbroken Anakin must be, knowing that his grandson has become like him. Vader was basically a slave and is grandson has become a slave like his grandfather but doesn't realize it. I'd like to know where Anakin's ghost is because he needs to knock some sense into his grandson. There weren't any force ghosts in the newest movie and I wonder if there's something keeping them from contacting the living world. The Skywalkers are dysfunctional and mentally unstable. Anyone related to Anakin is at risk for being insane; Luke and Leia were just fortunate enough to end up mostly mentally stable (though it's hinted that Luke fell into a deep depression after what happened to Ben/Kylo and why he's isolated himself.)

I believe that the reason why Anakin hasn't tried to talk any sense into his grandson as a Force Ghost is because Anakin reincarnated as Rey. Anakin realised that if he tried to talk any sense into Ben/Kylo as a Force Ghost that Ben/Kylo could just dismiss what he's seeing as a Jedi mind trick or something like that, so he choose to save his grandson from sharing his fate in the form of Rey.

"I think that it's more likely that Rey might be Luke's daughter"

No, that's too obvious and too anti-climactic as far as I'm concerned. I do NOT want Rey to be Luke's daughter. Luke is cooler as a celibate Jedi.

Rey: "Luke, are you my father?"

Luke: "No, you are."

Rey: "No, that's biologically incorrect. That's not plausible!"

Luke: "Explore your emotions, you know it to be correct!"

Rey: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uh...... I mean, cool. I guess."

Also, this picture makes me think that Snoke is Darth Vader:

i.ytimg.com/vi/vTeR1r38y6M/max…

It's possible that Darth Plagueis somehow survived Sheev's attack against him and/or transferred his soul into Darth Vader's corpse even after Anakin had become a Force Ghost. Sounds convoluted as fuck, I know, but hey, it's Star Wars - so anything is possible. Would be neat if Plagueis was posing as Darth Vader and tells Luke "I never returned to the light side and I never loved you.", because we, the audience, would know that it's not really Anakin because Anakin returned to the light side of the Force due to his love for his son. When Sidious was talking to Anakin in that opera scene in Episode 3, the music was almost the same as Snoke's theme. And bringing Plagueis back would be a good way to connect the prequel trilogy to the sequel trilogy. Not only that, but Sheev described Plagueis as 'wise' in Episode 3 and Kylo said in Episode 7 "Supreme Leader Snoke is wise." (or something like that, if I remember correctly). If Snoke is Plagueis controlling Darth Vader's body and Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker, then the sequel trilogy is literally Anakin Skywalker (as Rey) versus Darth Vader (who is not actually Darth Vader, but is instead Darth Plagueis). If Rey is Anakin reborn, then the sequel trilogy is STILL technically about the Skywalker family (just like Disney said) but the writers have the freedom to make Rey's parents people we have never heard about before. Rey being the reincarnation of Anakin is the ONLY explanation for Rey that I will accept.

It's a possibility but since reincarnation has never been used in Star Wars before, I doubt that. I think that it's more likely that Rey might be Luke's daughter, making her Anakin's granddaughter. It would be fitting if she has a similar role as Luke did with Vader so she'd be fulfilling the same role as her father did for grandfather, like a father, like daughter scenario. In that case, it's possible Anakin's ghost would be able to interact with his granddaughter and convince her to save his grandson, Kylo.

"....every single Skywalker must be erased from the galaxy...." I c the point u make.

Anakin failed minus a last minute redemption.

Luke failed with the New Jedi.

Leia failed with her son.

But as Yoda says ".....There is another "    Rey. This is y I want Rey 2 b a Skywalker so badly.  Rey can save the Skywalker legacy. Fixing all the rongs. Redeeming (or ending) Kylo.

She HAVES 2 b a Skywalker.

I agree Anakin would likely be devastated.

But there is something that unfortunately made it easier, I think, for the wrong information to be given regarding his legacy.  Something that, if Kylo survives and returns to the light, I hope will be different.

All Anakin had to do when he returned was face the truth for a few minutes and go out in a martyr's blaze of glory.  He never had to face the consequences or the passage of time with all the consequences of what he'd done.  He never got to control his own message after he killed the Emperor...instead, people constructed legends around him to suit their own agendas.  (That's what I suspect, anyway.)

This is part of why I want to hope Kylo has a Road to Damascus moment, and like St. Paul, lives to tell about it.  Have you ever noticed that for all his faith, St. Paul remained haunted by his actions before his conversion?  He had support, thank God, and that got him through, but you can very much see signs in his Epistles that he struggled with his past all the way from the Road to Damascus to his road to his beheading in Rome.  Whether or not you're Christian, my point about St. Paul telling his own story, and not hiding any of it, the good OR the bad, from the world, IMO stands.

IF Kylo can find the strength to do that as part of his redemption...that might make the difference for the next generations.

This site needs a comment like and fave system. And you have NO idea how much I'd kill for a moment like this in the future.

But if it doesn't happen, I'll flip my tables into the sun and kick canon screaming out a fifty story window. Like I've done with every other antagonist I've loved.

Thanks.  It could all be proven wrong, but that's just my theory.  The Force Awakens has lit my imagination on fire in a way the Prequels never really did, and IMO that shows that even though like anything TFA isn't perfect, that he did something very right.  I don't need "perfect"...I need a canvas to work with.

Love the art! The story does make sense though. From the novelization, Snoke and Ren talking:
“The historians have it all wrong. It was neither poor strategy nor arrogance that brought down the Empire. You know too well what did.”
Ren nodded once. “Sentiment.”
“Yes. Such a simple thing. Such a foolish error of judgment. A momentary lapse in an otherwise exemplary life. Had Lord Vader not succumbed to emotion at the crucial moment—had the father killed the son—the Empire would have prevailed. And there would be no threat of Skywalker’s return today.”

It also says Snoke manipulated Ben Solo, possibly since his birth, to turn him to the dark side. I think there's still more to it, but we'll have to wait and see!

I loved the Force Awakens and this piece of art looks amazing.
But I think Kylo knows Darth Vader turned good again in the end, but I think he sees that as a weakness and tries to not do the same mistake like Vader, that's why he killed Han. That moment of "weakness" that Vader showed was his own and the Empire's downfall. Although I don't think killing Han had the effect Kylo was hoping for. And who knows what role Snoke plays in all this and why Kylo/Ben even left his family and turned to the dark side. And yeah, this family tragedy is killing me. Can't wait for Episode VIII.
