Another new race I am trying to flush out...There were two inspirations for the race.
1) a kinda spontaneous request from when I was asking for advise on my "world"
2) the fact that Many times in running D&D I have a cat/fox/animal of some sort girl or guy pop up... and no race or explanation or origin... so I am working on one...
I am hoping to have a back ground flushed out soon (as I have most of it in my head... just not on paper...errr computer...)
I am also going to try to re-scan this at some point at work as even though the new technique seems to have worked some it isn't great and I want to fix it...
I am thinking she is casting magic and that is why her eyes are closed... really...
oh, and she is kinda suppose to be ambiguous in species... wolf/gray fox/cat.... what ever your liking
Edit: Now with name of race, Kaurdian!!!!!

I'm not sure what she is, but she's beautiful! I think some sort of all-purpose animal-related forest spirit. Instead of a plant-based dryad, more of an animal-based protector figure. Or maybe she's a renegade from the Wild Hunt.
I really love her design though, so flesh them out more! *sekritly wants to design one too*

Urocyon. That's what you should call the race. its from the scientific name for the grey fox. I thought it sounded pretty cool..
Again, i like your style, its so cool to see you create all these characters and races out of your head!! I paticularly like the little ribbons at her wrists

Turned out really well I think. Especially the tail and outfit.
In terms of names, one came to mind. What about Caudian? Cauda is the latin word for an animal tail.

I might work with the idea... turn it to Kaudian so it looks "more fantasy" and origin isn't as direct... plus it sounds like "Guardian" to me a little so maybe even Kaurdian... maybe... still a WIP though I may try to flush out some of their characteristics tonight...

I have trouble coming up with names for races/species/whatever too.. Anyway.. I really think she's drawn and colored well. I particularly like how her top turned out.

yeah, what I started doing is start with a Latin root and start messing around with it until it is something I like

That's a cool idea. I do something similar when I try to come up with last names for my characters (particularly my birds). I look through books about animals/birds/fish/whatever and sort of fiddle around with the scientific names.
