The textures and the colours are wonderful, as is the composition.

I love texture work. It's as if you could just reach out and feel it beneath your fingers.

I stopped painting when it got too hard on my eyes. I thought at the time I was going blind and wanted to save my eyes as long as I could. I was completely lost for the longest time because i had no artistic outlet. I did allot of writing but it just wasn't enough.

I at least have my pc and my manips now but I still get into arguments about whether or not that is truly art. I even have one friend who thoughtfully said "Hey you ought-ta have someone paint those for you and then they'd really be art and you could make a ton of money off of them.

Ask them if THEY could do manipulations like that? An art print of a manipulation hangs on the wall and says "look at me. I am art." The medium may be different than traditional painting, but art is art. period.

They'd only say there are no manips in the Guggenheim. There is allot of prejudice when it comes to what is and what isn't art just like your story on poetry. By the way I owe you a thanks. I checked out your friend's poetry (and it is poetry) and she is fantastic. I added her to my watch.

Bark In reply to KatDiestel [2010-10-14 10:27:40 +0000 UTC]
oh yeah? what would the play be about?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KatDiestel In reply to Bark [2010-10-14 16:22:56 +0000 UTC]
all my plays are about the one universal topic -
the individual and its strengths and weaknesses vs its surroundings and its strengths and weaknesses (also called the character's journey)
sounds boring but is indeed universal. your picture would be the backdrop of act 2 or 3, when the character already has had some strong blows but is still searching with (albeit diminishing) hope. the distant glow s/he can't perceive yet, but the audience as usual knows better ...
well, something along these lines

extremely interesting and well written! maybe you should post one of your plays. i know not many people will take the time to read anything of any length, and it leaves you open for theft... but i am curious.

thanks a lot. but as i said, the ones i have down in writing differ quite a lot from this dark stuff here as they were all collabrations of student groups with my occasional prompting, helping out, focussing - but not essentially my ideas. i just prepare the framework, they fill it with their ideas.

This is beautiful, first of all. And there's a strange kind of hope in it despite the "fall down" and the decay and the spider and the cage.
