My take on the "Top 10 Hottest Animated Chicks" meme. They're not really in a specific order except for the last one.

10: Signum (Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha) - Total badass. In a show of magical lasers blowing things up and blasting people into the hospital as a sign of friendship, Signum opts to completely wreck face with her sword. Despite being the undisputed manliest character in the show, she has a definite feminine side and is graceful and elegant even in battle.

9: Yoko Littner (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) - Yoko is an expert sniper and fights hordes of beastmen without fear or hesitation. She's also a total romantic and her interactions with Kamina show that she has both a fun and flirty side and that she's darn cute when she's angry.

8: Houki Shinonono (Infinite Stratos) - While still an inexperienced pilot, Houki always tries her hardest to match her friends and quite friendly and kind despite her sometimes rough shell. She also entertainingly fails at being a tsundere since she mellows out pretty quick once competition starts showing up and she's actually very easy to please once Ichika pays some attention to her.

7: Rei Hino/Sailor Mars (Sailor Moon) - Cool and mysterious in the original manga, and fiery tempered in the first anime. Anime!Rei has some of the best lines and was pretty much the most badass of the scouts since her magic seemed to work the most, bar Usagi, and she even had Miko powers in her normal human form.

6: Fate Testarossa / Fate T. Harlaown (Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha) - It's really hard to not feel bad for Fate in season 1, but she did amazingly at picking herself right up and becomes one of the TSAB's best enforcers for handling crimes across space-time and dimensions. With her efforts to save children and even becoming pseudo-guardian for two, she's easily the kindest and most empathetic character in the series.

5. Kallen Kozuki / Stadtfeld (Code Geass) - One half of Code Geass' obligatory Char Clone, representing his ace pilot skills while Lelouch handles his political savvy and cunning manipulation. She's a hard-core soldier who can get the job done, but also cares a lot for her friends and her romantic subplot brought out some of the best of both her and Lelouch.

4. Satsuki Kiryuin (Kill la Kill) - Her resolve is unbeatable. Literally. Even when she stopped being untouchable and starting tanking people she couldn't hope to match she didn't once think that she wouldn't be able to accomplish her goals. And much like Vegeta, even in the face of people more powerful than her she continues to be awesome with incredible self-confidence and epic speeches.

3. Seraphin (Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?) - Probably the most mature and rational person in the house despite her own quirks. While her cooking is...unique...she seems to enjoy helping out with laundry and cleaning by day and slixing up monsters by night. At least when Sarasvati doesn't need her for something embarrassing.

2. Ukyo Kuonji (Ranma 1/2) - Ukyo isn't just one of the best cooks in the series, she owns her own (profitable) restaurant. She invested her own style of fighting and seems to be the toughest of Ranma's fiancees, being the only one to get a named special (in the anime) and having some vicious fights (in the manga). Her greatest achievement, however, is being a kind, thoughtful, and downright friendly character in a cast full of jerks.

1. Hinagiku Katsura (Hayate no Gotoku) - Hinagiku seems to get more girls than Hayate himself due to being easily cooler than any guy in school being the take-charge student council president and being a part-time passing hero of justice that helps whoever she finds that's in need. Along with Hayate. Not much can take her in a fight and if she's working with Hayate then there's nothing they can't handle. Despite starting out as a tomboy and being oblivious to her own feelings, she was developed wonderfully into a lovely young woman with a funny and touching romance plot and is endearingly self-conscious despite her talents and looks.
