I have been so busy making this cosplay, the kyo cosplay for my boyfriend and a Miaka (miko version) for my friend, This really took my time this last month, sorry for not being here, but the manga and anime event really worth it ^w^ it. People took a lot of pics of me and my friends, I really have such a nice time today! ^o^

Did you use pleather for the grey/silver lines in the front and back? And the fabric you used seems like the perfect material, so I'm wondering if you can describe it for me so I can find a similar fabric, since I have no idea what tropical mecΓ‘nico is. 
I'm trying to do this outfit for my first cosplay evar.

About the silver lines in the front and in the back i used this --> I'm not familiar with the english name for this
About the fabric I'm not sure how to describe it to you XD, this is how it looks like --> [link] It's the kind of hard fabric, but maybe you want a more elastic fabric for this suit
And the zippers start when the slit begins, not all the line.

yup I did it myself, and I use a fabric that here in my country it's call "Tropical mecΓ‘nico" I don't know the english word for that ^^u

yup, that's the idea, first you make the patterns with your messurements in a paper, and then just copy the design in the fabric and last put them all together

For the straps I buy some cheap black belts, but you can use any false leather (don't know the name in english but here is "cuerina" is an cheap imitation of leather).
