A great piece!

I see that you have other art with a similar style. What do you call this style?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

batjorge In reply to FanArtArtist1993 [2018-04-20 21:48:55 +0000 UTC]

It is made with another program I usually use named Mandelbulber, wich gives a different output in all terms, but it uses the same 3d fractal concept (Distance Estimate)
Normally I use Mandelbulb 3D, wich is a different fractal program with more userbase.
I would name it Kleinian Style, because the formula used in both prgramas are based in the named Kleinina Group en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kleinian…

Blender is still better

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

batjorge In reply to sabson [2018-04-20 21:42:24 +0000 UTC]

Blender is a complete 3D program and MBer is a modest 3d fractal program. It makes no sense comparing them.
Mandelbulber calculates fractal patterns from a mathematical formula along with a raytracer and doesn't work with normal 3D concepts, such polygons, mesh, etc. You can export a mesh and render it into Blender, but not the opposite way.

batjorge In reply to hypex2772 [2018-04-20 13:34:05 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Hypex I tested it on Debian/KDE on a virtual machine and is working excellently. With Arch it was an advnetire to get compiled, still getting crashed
Despite of this the new features are cool and you can get into small hours with them

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

hypex2772 In reply to batjorge [2018-04-20 14:33:41 +0000 UTC]

Interesting. I always used wine. But 2.11 and 2.12alpha6 work. 2.12 und 2.13 do not start.
Which virtual machine do you use? Never tried. My OS is Kubuntu 14.04.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

batjorge In reply to hypex2772 [2018-04-20 21:36:05 +0000 UTC]

I think renaming the .mandelbulber and mandelbulber folders at /home should help to make it work, give it a try ifyou haven't done yet.
I used Virtual Machine Manager virt-manager.org/ (along with a GUI) and tried a lot of OS's. MBer worked fine in Debian family and had compiling troubles in all Arch's but finally solved. It still 'hangs' quite often, may ask Kyzsytof.
Virtualbox is also similar and easy to use and allows you to try all these things without messing up your own system. I spend half and a year with Kubuntu 14.04 and it worked fine fo rme all this time except Dolphin was crashing so I switched to some wild distro hopping.
