I can't tell you how much I really dislike comments like this. I put over 14 hours into this design and to have someone come along and compare it to something that it only has the slightest resemblance to is highly insulting.

No need to feel insulted at people expressing opinions that didn't match yours. Similarity to sauron's armour might be supreficial but to me it's prominent even if not intentional. That happens to many artists I know though.

When you come in and insult my creativity by comparing my design to something completely unrelated I am allowed to feel insulted. Most artists I know despise having people come in and say "X looks like Y", especially on design work.Β

1. No need to tell people what they can and can't be insulted by.
2. Undermining an artist's creativity and comparing them to other creations (especially in such a rude way) is hurtful to the artist even if not intentional
3. Just because it happens to a lot of artists doesn't mean it SHOULD happen to a lot of artists? I know a lot of people who get called fat and ugly too but that doesn't mean I go around saying it
4. Generally when someone says "You insulted me" the proper way to respond is "I'm sorry"

Uh? No, not really. If somebody gets insulted by your personal, unoffensive (unlike the mentioned "ugly" case) opinion then you shouldn't be any sorry for what you do. I'm assuming that if People post their works on the internet, they can take criticism on it. If comparing something to a classic design can even be considered criticism. Besides, that conversation whasn't even with you, so what you've got to do with that?

Inoffensive in your opinion, but I obviously took offense, and "lol looks like Sauron" is not constructive criticism, it is an ignorant and unneeded observation that could have been kept to yourself.
And he's my boyfriend, and I gave him permission to reply since I was too tired to deal with your asinine reply last night.

You really take this stuff too seriously. Like I said this can't even Β be considered criticism. I did not criticise this work in any way (because I think it's a good piece of art.) Not to mention being rude at any point. It just looks like insectoid Sauron to me and I expressed that opionion in not a very serious Β manner. If you are so deeply hurt by opinions and that don't appeal to your vision of your work why even bother putting it up on such wbsites. Cheers.

-rolls eyes- No you just left a completely pointless comment that basically boiled down to "this thing is only cool because it looks like this other thing" which yes, I find to be an insult to my creativity. And I tell everyone else who leaves "X looks like Y" comments on my art the exact same thing I told you which is: Don't do it. It's rude in and of itself.
