My entry for *Roxanne74 's fairytale contest.
This is based on the story of the Cottingley fairies; two cousins borrowed their father's camera and took five photos of themselves with what appeared to be genuine faeries, eventually attracting the attention of Arthur Conan Doyle. If you've seen 'Fairytale' or that Torchwood episode then you probably know what I'm on about.
Anyway, when I 'd finished this, it was very colourful, very blue in particular, and in keeping with the idea that the original photos were done in the early 1900s I toned it down to make it look older, but tried to keep some colour on the main faerie.
