Fanart of Pearls Before Swine. It took me a couple of strips to understand this comic, cause it showed up suddenly and without any information on the characters to replace Boondocks while Arron McGruder dedicates his time to making the cartoon, but while it's not as cool, it's enough to compliment how much Ziggy sucks... And there are very few funny animal strips in the Seattle Times/PI sunday comics.I do want to get a complete cast pic up later, but for now, here's just a sketch.

I read that strip everyday. That's firt time I've seen any fan art for it, but I hadn't been looking for any in particular either. Though, it's really nice to see some non-anime stuff on DA.

Honestly, I don't think I can draw Anime style consistantly... I drew this one a dare ([link] ) and THIS one always creeped me out as well as Sue: ([link] ), but on the whole I think I like my French/Jim Davis inspired basic shape design best.

HOLY CRAP I LOVE THAT CARTOON! It's dark humor, simple drawing style, & risk-taking controversy has made it one of my favorite strips! I'm going to have to fav this right now!!!

By the way, if you're wondering what the characters are like, I can tell you. Rat is the jerky, callous, arrogant guy whothinks he knows-it-all , Pig is the stupid, naive & sweet-natured one, & Goat, well, he's like the intellectual. He cannot put up with his friends' ignorance, & he especially cannot put up with Rat's cold-hearted ways.

oh cool! i've read this comic, its pretty funny. but i can't really say i read it religiously, since i dont read the newspaper everyday. though... i gotta say, it looks really close to the style. and oh yeah, i agree... the boondocks is much better, the cartoon is awesome, but its almost nothing like the comics, which IMO is much more political. but the absurdity of the cartoon is done well too.

I don't read it religiously either- I gave up on weekday comics(which ment I had to say "goodbye" to my beloved Curtis strips, but they just have too much continuety for me to understand them anymore... Forgive me, Curtis- you're still my favorite human-only comic.) and am now restricted to weekends... So I've only read so many myself.

i dont even get wwekend editions at my house, i usually just grab the newspapers at my college whenever i remember, lol. i need to catch up on garfield. no that was a comic i religiously read, but i havent kept up with it in years. i cant find that in the weekday papers, just the weekend. Oh and i dont think our paper prints curtis at all, weekend or not.

Wow, I'm in Canada and "Pearls before Swine" has been in my newspaper since forever.
I don't think I've ever seen the Boondocks comic strip, I only found out it exsisted from the cartoon on TV.
