Description A view of the Wailea shore and the West Maui Mountains across the Maalaea Bay.

And I can't think of a name, any help would be appreciated

I know the shadow detail is bad, but I'm being lazy and waiting for CS5 to come and save all my photographs with magic and sparkles.

One of the Canon Rebels ;D. I'm saving up for a Canon Rebel T1i (or EOS 500D if you dont live in america).

Awesome picture!

I do live in North America, but I prefer the rest of the world names, makes a bloody lot more sense than freakin Rebel T1i or XSi. At least I don't live in Japan, else I'd be shooting with the Kiss X2

The 550D is also out so you may want to look into that as well.

Anywho, before I start rambling, thanks

I wonder why they insist on changing the name depending on the country..o.o

I just researched on the 550D a bit. I can't decide which one I want. There's too many cameras! XD

This is a great view

I really love how desaturated the image is, and how it goes from lighter spots to darker spots. I might like some more saturated blue in the sky, but I really like a dark blue sky, so maybe that's just me

But this is a really nice shot overall. The framing is nice since it makes my eyes want to know what's happening to the right, and then later, far off in the background on the other island.

Nice job here

Yeah, I love the way this came out, dunno where I'd be without all the digital tools at our disposal. The dark spots are a bit too dark though, I'm working on that. And I like the sky the way it is so don't expect it too change much

Thanks man!

It's great. I'm trying to expand my travel photography horizons... any tips for how to make pictures pop like this?

It's beautiful, but I would have liked to see some detail in the shadows too. They are too dark.

Dang, I thought I had got it in the perfect spot between contrast and detail...

Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe "Calm Before the Tsunami" would be more appropriate

I'm never really good with names, myself.

The piece itself is brilliant. I really like the atmosphere from the clouds and the slight... haziness?

The way it's strongly contrasted to the foliage on the side is quite intriguing, as well.

Nobody seems to be

Yeah, I love the atmosphere myself, I was playing around with this shot in Lightroom and decided that I just didn't want to depict it in it's purely natural (albeit enhanced) colours, I wanted to make it more.

Haziness though? I suppose the mountain is a bit, but that just comes from distance

Thanks!

Well, I guess it's quite on the spot.

Oh right.

Hmm... Maybe. =/

I've stood at that exact spot my last trip to Hawaii. I love the clouds surrounding the West Maui Mountains in the background.

Really? No way

The mountains were actually quite clear that day, but they can't ever be free of clouds I suppose.
