Description Studies of a fox squirrel.

The squirrel was sleeping in a tree when I found him. Half of his tail was stripped of fur, but otherwise he looked healthy. I watched him for about an hour, during which he woke up and we had some pleasant conversation.

Also, I caught a frog. And my sister drew a cat on the following page.

Thank you!

When I'm learning to draw a new animal, I use tons of reference photos, but doing actual field sketches of the animal are so much nicer. Yoi really get a feel for the animal that a photo just can't provide.

Great sketches! You really got his face and little personality in just a few lines.

Thank you! He was still most of the time, allowing me to get a good sketch before shifting positions.
