Ryse hatched far upstream, where the water is too shallow and her belly skids on the gravel bed. She feels a pulling at her heart - the waves of the ocean are a distant song in her heart. In a strange land unfriendly to aquatic creatures, the ancient loon feels very alone, and mostly sticks to herself. She's not eager to try new things as she travels downstream to where she knows she must go. Though she's friendly enough, she does not want to trouble other loons with her search for her home.

I love how elegant Ryse is <3 she reminds me of a big, gentle Loch Ness monster that's very shy and sweet and just wants the paparazzi to leave her alone XD I can't wait to see her journey unfold!
