Beautifully drawn. I love the pattern in her dress. A very classical and classy background. Although I am a big fan of the post-industrial grittiness of the original.

Thanks! Hmm...just noticed that the jpg compression messed up some of the gradients. Sigh.

I still am trying to figure out which is the best method of saving things as...I see some as GIF, some as PNG and mine mostly JPEG. I have had the easiest time with JPEG's but wonder if there is a better choice.

It all depends on the final intent. I've found that PNG gives you less compression artifacts, but the file size is much bigger. Jpg varies a lot depending on the degree of compression you select. GIF is outdated and I pretty much don't use it anymore unless I have an 8 bit picture.
