WHOA! it's finished! Finally.This baby took me about 30 hrs to make in Photoshop. It has over 200 layers and the real thing has a moving subway. To see that, you'll have to visit Pixeldam .
I hope you like this and I hope that it will inspire experienced and novice pixel artists to add their creativity to the Pixeldam community.

Awesome. Just plain awesome.
There are soooo many little details in this, like the little fountain/statue in the plaza, the people walking the dog, the santa and his sleigh (?!), the train route map and finally, the Vodafone logo in the subway.
This whole picture would suck if it didn't have that Vodafone logo.
The colours on this are awesome, very urban, and slightly furturistic (near future). The colours and general style of this makes the town look and feel clean and tidy, like a well established community.

when you are doing something like this, where do you start?

First I set up a rough sketch with the line tool, to make a composite of the scene.
Then I pixel the outlines of the structures followed by coloring. I color later, because of i change things, i will not have wasted time. Lastly I add shadow and animation.
