Description Selenarctos thibetanus - The Himalayan Black Bear is found in the steep slopes of the Himalayas.

There are three types of bears found in India and the Himalayan black bear is the largest amongst them.

This animal is crepuscular & nocturnal in nature and its food varies with season. It thrives on fruits, honey, insets, termites, beetle larvae and also hunt sheep, goat and other cattle

Due to severe habitat destruction and poaching, the population of this beautiful animal has reduced drastically

The largest and most dramatic example of course is sealife. However I heard they do plan on finding a solution to save the whales.

Its about time they need to, as illegal whaling has shown its impact on their population. The Reality show "Whale Wars" on discovery is a nice program to watch the progress

I also recommend looking up Blue Planet. The information and watching the cycles of life in both the sea and on the shore is fascinating.
