This is a nice tutorial, I learned finally what's a Vexel. Thanks for sharing this here.

One question though, do people mainly do vexel art by using a stock to trace over, or it can be done without a picture?

Well the term for tracing a sketch you created before that or just creating shapes without some kind of guidance would rather be illustrating.

Though I'm no expert when it comes to terms. I think some people call everything that looks like something similar to a vexel a vexel. I don't know xDDD

Well this is how you create a vexel. I'm not sure what you mean with jpg photo. Just find a photo you want to trace, open it in photoshop or a similar programm and trace it as explained in the tutorial. When you're finished save it as a jpg?

Yes, I've been thinking about something like that. But at the moment I have to do other stuff first. Though I'm pretty sure, I'll write a new tutorial soon
