Here I am with comment tag with the tag word ocean.
This might not be ocean in our contemporary sense, but if we think about the Greek god Oceanus, who personified the great sea/river that surrounds the world, it does not really matter, where it flows: around the land or in the sky, like on this artwork. It might also be that the end of the world is not a border, but where the endless repetition starts.
I like the serene color scheme that is perfectly balanced with some muted colors, but remains clear. The sky interacts with the field, giving some blueish tones to the grass, and that brings the piece together. The fish-eye objective view is a nice decision for a βboringβ scene like this one, but at the same time it makes things look cartoon-y. It is a matter of preference, so I am not saying that is necessarily good or bad, but it is something to be aware of. Another point that deviates from realism is that the clouds behave as almost solid objects of the similar size and shape: the smudged pieces are nice, but are not enough for a realistic look.
Overall, it has been a pleasure to view and comment on this painting. Keep it up!
