I like how smooth his skin is but it's an odd contrast to the scratchyness of the guitar, the guitar doesn't hide it's method it's obvious that it's a drawing and makes not attempt at illusion where as the rest of the picture does. especially the head and hair. Is there a reason you switched styles with the guitar?
Don't misinterpret my tone, still a gorgeous piece I'm just curious

No problem. If you don't mind my asking, how exactly did you do it? Did you use one of the filters? I have Photoshop CS2 and I absolutely love it. I have noticed that people are creating more an dmore digital paintings lately and since I am fairly new at using photoshop, I was just curious to know how it's done. But your piece is absolutely brilliant! Keep up the good work!

Well, I have Photoshop 7,0 and am not really sure if there is anything like a filter there... xD how does it work/look like? xD;;
About how I do my digi-works... I just open a reference on one side, new canvas next to it, zoom in the original and just try to draw exactly the same I can see on a photo, changing brushes when it's needed ;] Don't really know if I could explain it another way xD;;

*lol* Wow...that must take forever! I have Photoshop CS2, so if you click on "Filter", which is next to "View" and "Select" at the top of your screen, it opens up. You could then click "Filter Gallery" and then when the gallery opens up, you click the tab that says "Artistic." There, you could make the image look like a watercolor painting, sponge painting, paint daubs, etc...But I would definitely love to learn how you do it. Thanks for responding!

oh my gosh, after I'd read what you'd written I thought I have these options too and just out of curiosity I opend my PS and tada!~~ xD haha, yeah, now I remember them xD but I never use them when drawing, as I don't really remember which option does what and I have no time for checking every single one, plus I'd be afraid I can destroy the image by using these xD;;
No problem ^^v

ahaha, but the hair looks so creapy! the ends especially! xD thx hun ^^
indeed, every line has it's own layer. and every time I try to use the eraser the pointer turns into a crossed white circle and when clicking it says "could not use the eraser because the conent of the layer is not directly editable' >_> I tried clicking and unclicking things in 'layers' but it wouldn't help and I dunno what to do about it ToT [I have Photoshop 7,0]

Kyo667 In reply to bideru [2006-05-01 14:12:56 +0000 UTC]
Ah, you're right, I tried it in Photoshop 7 and it didn't work for me, too! I think that is because PS7 creates paths when you're using the line tool.
Try this - go to paths in your layer window. Then right click on the path and choose 'Fill Path...'. (Be careful with the color!) The line will look a bit creepy now, because the path is still over the line. You can delete the path by right click 'Delete Path'. Now the line should look normal again. xD You'll have to do this for every (line) path you want to erase. Then go back to the layers. You should be able to erase the lines with the normal eraser tool now.
Hope it's understandable, I'm not very good in explaining. xD If you still need help, I could make some screenshots, too. ^^
