Not sure how to categorize this - the majority of the work was done traditionally, but the spot colors were laid in in Photoshop. dont ban me plz---
A gift for one of my favorite doujinshi artists. There's text in the lower right splash area, but I took it out for posting to DA.
I wanted to do something using only ink and a little spot color. Inked with the Hunt #102 crowquill nib. I'm liking that one more and more over the G-nib, and I've abandoned the 512 entirely.
I had the Beastles mix on repeat (The "Lady Madonna"/"Whutcha Want" mashup in particular) while working on this - it helped a lot with the lines.
Spraypaint/splatters are a combination of altered stock photo (from sxc.hu) and custom brushes (from Brusheezy.com).
Mugen's drinking Lone Star, haw. I bought a 6-pack and had one sitting on the table for reference.
Then I drank it.

Great character. One thing id like to know is what do his blue tattoos mean? only thing i can think about is they are the black bands you put around your arm when someone has died. .....ehh i dunno. LOVE THIS

I think in Edo-era Okinawa (Ryuukyuu), convicts got tattoo bands on their ankle or wrists. Not 100% positive, though.

Lol, "Then I drank it" fantastic lines and great job inking. I used your mugen face as a reference for my mugen vs spike pic. it's not up yet but it should be today or tomarro...not that you may or may not care lol but it's just a really cool drawing here. The colors, the splatter is something I have been trying to get down but I can't tweak it right. Ima head on over to brusheezy.com to see what they have. I'm using gimp and a wacom intuos 4.
