Done for Madman's "Mix'n Match" Art Competition back in June 2010. We had to grab characters and mix them all together. I decided to to an entry comprised of old people

One day whilst reading some Japanese Manga, Jeong Jeong (Avatar) and Pakku (Avatar) discovered a horrible truth: Teenagers always upstaged the old folks! Horrified by this revelation, the two of them set off across the worlds, jumping from series to series and recruiting like-minded and like-aged characters to help them in their quest to redeem old people and eradicate the ever-increasing number of Gary Stus and Mary Sues. During their travels they met Professor Farnsworth (Futurama), who refused a spot in the old person army but instead offered a means to make them better...MAGIC FUSING SLIPPERS! These slippers work much like Potara Earrings (though the fusion is not permanent) and have allowed the geezer squad to become a one-man army intent on stealing back the limelight from those wretched teens. Unable to fuse in with the men, the ladies felt left out so they developed their own means of fusion - a magic shawl.
On their way through Konoha, having just recruited Jiraiya, the team is confronted by an eager Sarutobi, who wants in. Trouble is he can't seem to tell male from female and has assumed the uglier form must be the man...how wrong he was. Alas it seems the men might not want the beloved Hokage anyway...
Old Lady:
Avatar/Gran Gran (hair), Avatar/Li (Ears, torso), Inuyasha/Kaede (eyes), Spirited Away/Yubaba (Chin, earings, forehead dot, right arm), Banjo-Kazooie/Grunty (Left arm, socks), One Piece/Kureha (Pants, glasses), Howl's Moving Castle/Witch of the Waste (Nose, shawl), DBZ/Baba (Mouth, crystal ball), FMA/Pinako (Pipe, shoes).
Old Man:
Avatar/Jeong Jeong (Eyes, moustache), Avatar/Pakku (Hair, necklace), Ghost in the Shell/Daisuke (Hair, beard), Bleach/Genryussai (Scar, eyebrows, obi), Kingdom Hearts/Ansem (Scarf), DBZ/Roshi (Stick, torso), Naruto/Jiraiya (Right arm, face tattoos), Yugioh/Solomon (Hair, dueling deck), Jak and Daxter/Samos (Left Arm, ears), Star Ocean 3/Adray (Skirt, Katana), Le Chevalier D'Eon/Teillegory (Rapier, boots), Pokemon/Professor Oak (Mouth, jaw).
The order of who's speaking for the Old Man goes: Ansem, Pakku, Adray, Samos, Jiraiya, Roshi, Jeong Jeong, Oak, Daisuke, Solomon, Teillegory, Genryussai.

Imagine the kind of crazy conversations they must have with themselves.....? That would be horrible
I love the story behind this, and as you already know, totally agree with it. It's hilarious that Sarutobi can't tell which is which

At any rate, at least those conversations will be keeping their brain(s) active, right? Still, I'd hate to be around when half of them want mushy peas, and the other half want regular 
Yeah, and I'm still wishing this would become a reality some day. Damn youngin Gary-Stus! I'm still trying to decided whether Sarutobi's confusion is a compliment or an insult to the men...

Of course you would take all the older characters and fuse them together.
In Sarutobi's defense, who WOULDN'T be confused by two such hodge-podge and mixed up characters?
I'd say something about how they don't flow together to create one being, but I sense that that was your intention.

I'd have to agree with you there. In fact I intentionally made the female fusion uglier than the man. And when you look at it, Sarutobi IS being a bit of a gentleman, what with assuming the female would be prettier than the male
As they're mature and don't argue all the time (like young punks would), of course they're able to all be conscious and thinking at the same time...hopefully
I suppose when you think about it though, old people generally make sure their opinions are heard no matter what (even when they're meaningless and only voiced out of loneliness), so even if they weren't all fused together they'd probably still have the same problem. In a way being together makes it easier, plus the enemy won't hear them trying to decided a strategy
