Preparing some portfolio pieces for the upcoming con season. Next up: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!Or rather, my take on classic April O'Neil and Casey Jones.
Inspired by Carmine Infantino's classic Batman & Robin pinup.

Really? The 87 version looks pretty accurate to me, spiky hair (the 87 had a mix between long and spiky at first), a tight light blue shirt and sweatpants.

Well the classic comic version is fine (1984) and badass -- the 1987 animated version is decidedly NOT badass -- badly animated and the proportions are weird and the voice acting too abrasive. I don't mind the attire, it's the design of his body if that makes sense... he looked like a rubber doll.

This is really great! You excel in your clean lineart and sense of perspective. April's face emotes a lot of personality, as her eyes follow Casey as if to see what move he's going to attempt next? Does she have it in her to leap from the rooftop ledges like a certain colorfully-clad circus-performing crimefighter? I can't help but think the only thing to make this piece better would be a camera in her hand to suggest she's about to get the scoop while Casey leaps into the action.
Did your Casey Jones take inspiration from any existing incarnation of him? The white shirt seems very distinctive. His hair looks a little too much on the "pretty boy" side for my taste, but it's a solid look for a more stylized take.

My Casey Jones is as classic as I could get him without him looking too silly. (Hated his initial look in the 1987 toon). So it's faithful to that, and the original 1984 comic version, with maybe a bit of 4Kids version.
