Dear Bilou:
This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.
What is there to be said about this man that hasn't already been said? We moths are drawn to his flame, and you've proven that with this art piece. I have nothing bad to say about this. This is going into my faves gallery. I love the look of mischief you put in those blue eyes!!!
Keep up the good work, kiddo!!!
Believing in Sherlock Holmes always,
Indy.

Dear Bilou:
This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.
He was also described by somebody as "a six foot six year old." Yes, he does act like a child but not in the way our beloved detective does. He grabs life by the horns and never dares to let go. Unfortunately, no, I have seen your video for I can't draw worth a hoot. Yet, I feel that my fan fiction is my art, and I have someone helping me with that.
I found that his face was the biggest complaint of most of the artists in the Sherlock fandom. They kept saying his face is too hard to draw. Please keep in mind that this next little story is coming from a person who never got past the stickman stage in the art department.
I was looking through a French person gallery, and she had the same complaint--Benedict's face was too hard to draw. I noticed that she had a great black and white photo of David Bowie. He has somewhat the same cheekbones as Benedict. I told her: "You've got a great picture of David Bowie there. You find yourself a really good photo of Benedict, and you just sit there and study their cheekbones for a while. You'll figure out Benedict's face.
Since then, I've been able to find her profile page, so I don't know whether she improved on Benedict's face or not. What I do suspect about his face is that it might be made from latex rubber for the many configurations he puts it in.
Believing in Sherlock Holmes always,
Indy.

In my opinion, everything is difficult to draw since the moment you've put your heart and feelings in. I'm rarely satisfied with the portraits I've made of him because I care about it. I want them to be perfect.
Furthermore, I think that the most difficult thing to draw in Mister Cumberbatch's face is not his cheekbones. He's got two faces : the right and the left. They are really different and he could have two differents expressions on his face on the same time, everything is on his eyes. The difficulty is to perceive this difference and to be able to draw it. It's the reason why I rarely choose to draw Mister Cumberbatch full-face and prefere to draw profiles, halfprofiles, 3/4 profiles... The other main difficulty in Mister Cumberbatch's face is all the bottom : his mouth (with the little scare on the right corner), the shape of the chin, the shade of his mustache. But all these difficulties are so enjoyable to solve. It's a challenge, and I guess it's one of the reason why I continue tirelessly to draw him.

You underestimate yourself, mon ami! From what I'm reading here, your English is excellent!! I work on my tales (stories) with a lady in Denmark, and I can say the same thing about her English, even though there seems to be a few bugs still in it.
Would your love for London also come from the fact that, if you're in Paris, that Paris is just across the English Channel?
Just put this down to Canadian curiosity.
Believing in Sherlock Holmes always,
Indy.

I agree. His smile is very infectious, which means it is the same as you said, it is "catching". Actually, his whole face is intriguing. His presence would be hard to ignore anywhere he is. I like his voice too.

You're very welcome ! I don't know if I'm the right person to point out any eventual mistakes I see, but, if you want me to, no problem.
But in my opinion, there is no real mistake. Sometimes you feel incomfortable about a drawing but it's not always important. I know how much it's hard to be satisfied about what you're produicing, but I think it's the artists' curse... So don't worry, if I see something really shocking, I would say it, but for me, the most important thing is to convey the right feeling about your work. And your work produce the right feeling for me, so I like it very much ! Carry on !
