Author’s note: This page will describe the upgrades available to the MPD-2000 “blow crazy” submachinegun. If you want to see the description of basic weapon, go here –(www.deviantart.com/biomechanoi… );
Overview:
For those, who didn’t ditch the weapon after it’s first mission, there are some upgrades, which mostly help to mitigate the weapon’s big shortcomings, and enhance it’s performance in close quarters combat.
“Blow crazy” features three accessory rails. One long on top of the receiver, and two on the sides for mounting various accessories. The protruding barrel is also an attachment point for various attachments.
Sights:
The smg’s top rail can be used to mount various sights. The majority of the users will very likely install a simple red dot sight, since quick aim is essential with this weapon.
Though possible, installing any optic sight is not advised, since the weapon’s recoil in full-auto mode will very likely throw off your aim at long range, unless you somehow manage to control the recoil.
Side rails:
The side rails can be used to install either a laser sight for quick aiming, or a tactical flashlight, or the combination of the two devices in one.
The other optional attachments include a “revisor” ammo-counter, which is used to tell how many rounds are left in the magazine, but in practice the user is just going to watch how the number will turn from 40 to 0 in just seconds. And a “FragTrack” frag tracking system.
The “fragtrack” is more of a tool of statistics, than any practical upgrade. This device not only records how many people did you kill, but also shows, the detail of each kill, for example how many shots did you fire, and how many hit the target. Or how many headshots did you during the skirmish. The “fragtrack” consists of two devices: the camera sensor, which doesn’t make a movie, but tracks the bullet trajectory and hit spot. And a digital display, which is used to display how many kills you made.
Muzzle accessories:
The protruding barrel of the weapon is also an attachment point for various muzzle devices.
Individually the weapon’s shots themselves don’t produce much recoil , but the high rate of fire means the there is very small delay between shots, which will seriously throw off your aim, limiting the weapon to close quarter encounters.
The muzzle brakes will help the user to mitigate the recoil, and is a must for those who want to hit anything past 15 meters.
“Blow crazy” can also take a suppressor, for hearing protection and recoil control, but the user will have to change the suppressor like a diaper on a baby, since the extremely high rate of fire means that the suppressor will wear out pretty quickly and require frequent replacement, unless the weapon isn’t fired frequently. SU-12-9 is the best suppressor for “blow crazy”, though others will also do good.
And lastly, to make wasting money more spectacular, there is a Tracertech TR-12 tracer attachment. This device is effectively a good substitute for tracer ammunition. TR-12 uses holographic technology to mark and trace the movements of fired projectiles, effectively replacing the tracer ammunition. The tracers however are visible only in short range, and only to the user and anyone near him.
Internal upgrades:
The weapon’s main feature- turned out to be the biggest drawback of the weapon. The high rate of fire, while making the weapon effective in close encounters, also leads to a large ammo consumption. And some gunsmiths may work with the weapon’s internals to reduce the rate of fire, reducing the lethality, but increasing the controllability.
