March of the Robots Day 4: the Death Stalker

Not my finest hour, I like the concept, but after the insanity of yesterday, just no time, no sleep to really focus on it, so very plain jane, and sloppy. Good thing it's not for a client.

The Death Stalker is a Frankenmech hailing from some corner of the Taurian Concordat. In a planetary militia, was found the partial chassis of a Scorpion Mech... which they proceeded to replace the missing Superstructure.... with the Body of a Hetzer Wheeled Gun. Weighing in at 45 tons, the ICE engine of the Hetzer was replaced with a 180 rated Fission Reactor, allowing it to retain the overall speed of a Hetzer, but with better overall mobility and terrain defeating capabilities.

Carrying 7 tons of armor, it's marginally well protected for it's size, with all frontal locations able to take a hit from a PPC without sustaining internal damage, and the torsos carrying 60% more on the sides and 80% more on the center. Most importantly, it retains the 150mm Crusher Super Heavy Cannon, which packs a punch few machines can endure.

One notable comfort, is that the interior was designed to carry a crew of 3, along with 3 extra tons of ammunition, and even with the extra bulk of the fission reactor, the Death Stalker has an unusually roomy "cockpit" with a second full seat (no control,s but still has a commander's periscope), and enough room inside for the pilot to actually lay down and sleep, in a slightly cramped manner.

While a complete backyard jalopy, someone in the Taurian Military appears to have taken notice, as a fusion powered machine of similar design was spotted on the testing grounds on Perdition, though there have been no further sightings since the Perdition Massacre. It appeared to be able to move up to 86 kph and carried an anti-Infantry Flamer, while the legs appeared to be slightly up armored.
