Description The castle of Himeji, in the Hyogo prefecture is recognized as the most beautiful of the 12 remaining feudal castles of Japan. It was built in the XVIth century, and is known as The White Egret.

It's very intimidating, but not by size. More by the fact that it looks very sturdy and respectable.

This castle has really resisted to a lot of attacks (that's why it is still there).

And the color scheme is cold, like the weather that day.

one of the greatest castles in Japan, the imperial castle... it's so beautiful XD the high moat, and great park around it

Yeah, very guidebooky I agree, but actually there are not that much places around where one can get a decent view of it, so I guess everyone must have pretty much the same.

Noooo... Himeji is a small city (small.. by Japanese standards that means less than 1 Million inhabitants). And Himeji was the castle of a Shogun.
