aaaaaa i actually finished this a few days ago but didn't upload it until now hh
entry for Nautipods 's myo contest !
do i actually have to explain his personality tbh hahaha ok
ALSO all the stuff on his shell isn't part of his shell please read his bio to find out what they are :3c
ALSOOOOO everything about him is common look at him he's such a smol

Name: Maru
Gender: Male (he's fine with any pronouns tbh since they have no genders)
Personality: Kind, friendly, caring, gullible, loyal, childish
Likes: Everything i kid you not he will shove love onto everything and everyone even a plastic rhino
Dislikes: Nothing
Bio:
Maru was born in a small underwater cave. The nester who laid his egg had left him and he and his siblings grew up on their own. But one by one his siblings were eaten, killed or tried to leave but never came back, until only Maru was left in the small cave he called home. He grew anxious and never dared to go beyond the opening of the cave. Other Nautipods would swim by and peek into the cave but Maru refused to socialize. One day he spotted a small fish whiz by the cave opening. It was small and had all the different colors painted across their scales. As it swam away Maru tried to chase it until he realized he had left his cave. He was scared and anxious as he tried to swim and wave his tentacles frantically around in the water. Then he spotted something. A big black shadow was approaching and it only made Maru even more anxious as he tried to swim away. But then he felt himself getting pulled away as the shadow was a human and it had grabbed him pulling him to the surface. Maru then woke up to see the blue sky and three large humans in black were staring at Maru, who was dozing in the sun, trying to figure out what happened. He heard the humans make strange noises and then another human came and picked him up. Maru got anxious again but then he was gently placed in what looked to him was a transparent box with water. There were small coral on the floor of this box and Maru swam around the fish tank with the humans staring at him from afar. Days passed as Maru kept on swimming in the fish tank when suddenly a human came to him and scooped him up and observed him. He was put in a much much smaller tank and he felt the tank move and in a few minutes he was in a bigger tank and saw the human stand in front of his tank and walk away, only to come back with a small box. He opened the box to reveal tiny scupltures made from a shiny material (its polymer clay maru doesn't know shhh) the human picked him up and put the scupltures on his shell (the human stuck them on with a safe glue hiii) and then put Maru back in the tank to go and bring a small mirror for Maru to look at. Maru loved his new shell and swam around admiring it from all angles. The human then brought Maru back into the ocean and Maru swam to finally meet other Nautipods. At first they stared at him oddly but after a while (bro like a long time) Maru made friends and was living happily with other Nautipods ! He would from time to time visit the surface but lived much happier in the ocean.
