My own custom brushes.

Do you sell the brushes you use?

I do not. I could however make a tutorial. Most of the brushes I use are fairly standard.

Waaaah! This is like the bestest art I've seen on DA so far! I wuv it so much I'm gonna die!
She totally fits in the environment and everything from expression to size to colours just comes together purrfectly.
When you have so much harmony in a piece it creates this feeling of realness, sometimes even more so than reality itself, even though any part of it or its premise would be ridiculous. Or at least a desire for it to be actual. It's kind of what drove people to luv Zelda games and drove people to commit suicide for the Avatar movie. It's a magical ingredient that only a few people can understand and wield.
Please never stop making art.

Thanks.

I did not use a photograph. When I used photorefs, I always post it in a link in the comments section.

OMG, you did it without photoreference ? That's really incredible .

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BJPentecost In reply to Eledhwen-Arts [2012-07-14 22:49:56 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I sculpted the basic shape of the figure up in Zbrush then did a rough render and saved it out. I did all the detailing and light-refining in Photoshop.

BJPentecost In reply to supermarioART [2012-02-06 23:26:21 +0000 UTC]

No the fur is not 3D. I have a special brush technique. Just simple Photoshop, nothing really all that special.

this... is possibly the most beautiful anthros i have ever seen... and i don't say that lightly. i'm in love. The way her fur stands out from the forest, but the pallets are so soft and inviting... the way she floats, that weird.. fruit thing she's holding. ... wtfaen is that anyway?

and miht faaaaen that tail is just to die for.. i feel like if she were tame i could curl up in that sweet fluffiness forever =^//^= i em have a major thing for fluffy and/or elaborate tails. i will find an excuse to put them on anything, even real people.

don't worry about your loin cloth habits, i really like how dainty and delicate it is. it's also a nice excuse for an extra piece of silver running so smoothly down her leg..

i give you 8 stars out of 5. because i like the number 8 at times like this. also is she a type of fox or em.. what? :3

how did you make the fur? it looks soooo GREEEAAATTTT

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BJPentecost In reply to B03DI [2011-08-21 02:31:10 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Lots and lots and lots of tiny little lines that are dark at the base and lighter at the tip.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

B03DI In reply to BJPentecost [2011-08-21 04:56:34 +0000 UTC]

wooow, you must be very patient to be able to do the fur part. It's very neat that I thought it was a 3d texture render at the first sight, especially on the leg, can you do a tutorial please?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BJPentecost In reply to B03DI [2011-08-21 11:42:07 +0000 UTC]

I actually have a tut. It's old though: [link] It does require a lot of patience but at least the dark to light part is doable with a photoshop brush setting. You can use the color setting in the brushes to make the strokes go from foreground color to background color gradually and you can set the span over which this occurs. Unfortunately, this is a rather new technique I use so it is not in that tutorial.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

B03DI In reply to BJPentecost [2011-08-22 01:55:49 +0000 UTC]

I've download your tutorial, it's really great! forgive me for asking so many questions, but may I know how many layer do you use to do the fur? I'm just curious thanks again

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BJPentecost In reply to B03DI [2011-08-22 02:39:16 +0000 UTC]

I don't mind questions. I usually only work on 2-3 layers overall. 1 layer will have the figure and another layer will have the fur.

Isn't random fun though?

And yes, loincloths are good........
Though I am sure that could only be considered a piece of string that got peanut butter stuck to it and dragged through a dirty room.
Well, not a dirty room persay but.....

I digress.
Good job.
