I love it. It doesn't happen often, but when someone makes a pin-up painting in the style of the Old Masters, except it's furry...

As always, the details and lighting are extraordinary. Almost like it's a picture, and not a painting.
Well done.

When I first saw her announced, the :3 raised rather titillating expectations. Though usually understood as a pleased cat, in context it was hard not to read as a canine muzzle becoming enormous in one's face; someone who is in your personal space and not in the slightest shy to show what she wants.
The expectations were more than fulfilled.
Despite the fairly muted pallette and overall cool nature of character and forground alike, there is a smouldering sensuality here that might as well make Sei Shonagon herself blush most approvingly. Or perhaps all the more for it. Without knowing how specific the client was on the details, though obviously a fantasy scene something in the atmosphere of the environment seems to linger very close to home. This feels very genuinely like it could be somebody's bedroom - somebody the viewer may know, or perhaps their own, dimming with the late Autumn light.
One can only wonder how she might appear in full sunlit lustre, but that is only one among many questions she invites. The coat and quite robust head would suggest she is mostly lupine, but the ears and upturned tail suggest a dog; indeed the large and fairly brightly coloured ears almost give the impression of a toy spitz with a long pedigree.
Perhaps it is reading too deeply into individual details, but her outfit seems to hint at the latter. Your skill at designing and imaging jewellery never ceases to impress: Even the choker with its straightforward design, minuscule beads and a large center stone, is quite an eyecatcher... if a choker that is.
Is that a collar?
Perhaps someone not only has dog heritage, but is proud to display it.
Well done.

Thank you. ^___^ As always, your comments are a treat to read.
Many of my characters tend to be a mix of assorted canine and vulpine features. I like big ears which tend to be vulpine and I like long, lean muzzles which tend to be wolven. In this case, she was a commission where the commissioner gave me some leeway in her design. His only requests were canid and no "outlandish" markings.
The jewelry around her neck could be either a collar or a choker depending on the viewers' predilections. Personally, I see it more as a choker but I'm not opposed to the collar idea either. :3

And thank you in turn, for I learn something new - have always read that icon as a demonic paw balancing a rotund coffee mug, but (depending on the intentions of the paw, that is) do much prefer the ale. Rarely refuse a Guinness nor Spitfire.
"Canid" is a good creature class, sufficiently specific to give a fine idea what to expect, but not as restrictive as "canine" or "vulpine". Or for that matter - if they do have their species-specific adjectives - raccoon dogs or maned wolves. I do not know if you use a specific ruleset for anthro hybridisation, but if so it sounds as if it could provide a good balance of cohesion and variety.
Oh... I realised too late outside of context, mentioning someone wearing a collar waiting in bed might imply a lot about her relation with the viewer. But while the idea can be exotically alluring, on this occasion that not quite why it roused my interest. Was more curious about the concept behind a collared canid; if you would share your thoughts on including accessories associated with pets in anthro design, think many would be eager to hear.

The word "collar" evokes two different concepts in my mind- slavery or BDSM, though, there are other connotations and meanings associated with it, I'm sure. In a world where therians exist, I imagine derogatory comparisons to base wild animals probably exists and thus, collars could be seen as incredibly insulting, especially to canids. Yet even in that context, a collar could hold great power as a tool of BDSM given that many masochists enjoy humiliation or being tightly controlled.

There you touched on something I had completely forgotten to consider. In worlds where therians exist alongside mundane animals, especially if they are descended or engineered from the same, comparison to base animals may not only be insulting but outright horrifying. The thought of being deprived of cognitive functions, high culture, speech, longevity, upright posture... for a human there may not even be a comparably threatening thought.
But yet, perhaps not wholly abominable. As much as most find the thought of being dominated frightening and something to avoid no matter the cost, there are indeed some who seek it out on their own terms. Perhaps, in such context, some may not find the reduction to a lesser beast a collar implies a threatening thought, but thrillingly pleasurable.
I tend towards a setting where anthropomorphic animals are alone - there are neither humans, great apes nor mundane mammals - and the broad strokes of history are not unlike our own. There the dog collar in the West is descended from canine overrepresentation in medieval serfdom - a similar tradition to the cats' bell as a license of trust for the soundlessly treading predators - but in time it has transformed into a piece of cultural clothing, and a comfort item with completely opposed symbolism; a badge of canine pride.

Interesting thoughts. I can indeed see that as a possibility. After all, there are some times when being compared to an animal can be seen as favorable. She's fast as a cheetah, strong as an ox, graceful as a swan, clever as a fox, has the memory of an elephant. SO yeah. I can see that.
I wouldn't mind a setting where only therians were present but I do like diversity of appearance for two reasons- (1) Because my interests wander often between humans, humanines, and therians. I find that I most often tend towards humanines. (2) Because most other people tend not to like furries and are skeptical of humanines. If I want them to take my work seriously, I need to have something they can relate to. Unfortunately, I fear I'll never achieve the same level of esteem some human-only artists do but whatever. As long as I can pay my bills.
