Description     “You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park South? That little lake? By any chance, do you happen to know where they go, the ducks, when it gets all frozen over? Do you happen to know, by any chance?”

With what is going on in the world right now, I decided to go on a book binge and read a ton of stuff. During my search, I came across "The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger. The book was an interesting read for me, as while the character Holden came across as crass at times, I found him totally relatable throughout the book. The scene of which Holden asks about the ducks to the cab driver was insightful. The analogy of ducks being used for Holden's reluctance of wanting to grow up and uncertainty for his future was a relatable and insightful look into the fears of change and stagnation.

I was surprised to learn that Salinger's book was never adapted into a movie, which some people prefer as a lot of movie adaptations are typically poor but I would still like to see one done. Because of that, I wanted to do a project where I recreated scenes from the book in a cartoon animated form. I would love to do more scenes especially if everyone is interested and wants to see more.

Sincerely, Black Diamond
