awww they are so pretty and soft looking. are they originally white flowers, and the lighting gave them that blue effect? its really cool.

O_o wow...I love this picture.
There's soo much detail in the flower. It's insane. I can even see sparkles on the petals *begin some sort of dream sequence*

Black-Falcon In reply to Yume-Megami [2006-02-12 10:31:22 +0000 UTC]

hah thanks, well for detail i always try to use a slow ISO like 64 and of course this was a macro

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Yume-Megami In reply to Black-Falcon [2006-02-12 19:41:17 +0000 UTC]

I use a digital camera, which has an ISO speed option (which is odd because I know that the ISO speed deals with film )
Anyways, I'm still a bit confused about the ISO speed. Is the slower ISO better for detail?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Black-Falcon In reply to Yume-Megami [2006-02-13 03:47:04 +0000 UTC]

yeah ISO is actually a indication of of sensitive the film is so with digital the lower the ISO (64) the less sensitive but the more detail and the less "grain" or "noise" but the higher the ISO (1600) the more sensitive the film and the more "noise" or "grain" is apparent (lower quality) but fast ISO means you can shoot in low light with fast shutter speeds while slower ISOs need more light to operate at fast shutter speeds.....i use a digital aswell

hehe...
im bad at cropping... so i think i want to learn from you.. ;D
is that cool? lol

Black-Falcon In reply to manalolita [2006-02-03 05:12:50 +0000 UTC]

hmm i guess, i like to teach what i know so ask away, what about cropping do u find hard, what i try to do is find the main subject in the photo and crop that, sometimes there are certain aspects that are not the main subject but are important and have to be included, so a cropped photo is not Necessarily a better photo but a different photo that illustrates more of that "feeling" the photographer gets from the photo, sometimes its better to leave certain aspects in, it all depends on how you percieve the photo, hope that helps ill stop rabbling now

manalolita In reply to Black-Falcon [2006-02-03 11:56:23 +0000 UTC]

oh thanx for the explanation..
the thing that i found hard abt cropping is to actually find the feeling for the main subject..
you know, like your flower were not posisitioned in the middle still it attracts attention straight away when you see the piece.
i wouldnt really know how to do that .. lol
i guess i need to experiments more..

im hoping you'd comment or critique me along the way, that way ill learn
your suggestions will be much appriciated

no problem, there are a few "rules" to composition and cropping but i might explore them later

Hi. I’m Kat. Congrats on a wonderful photo.

I really loved this piece so I featured it in my β€œPicks of the Week” journal. [link] There’s no prize or anything (sorry). I just like to post various works which I think are really well done. I hope you don’t mind. If you want me to remove it just send me a note and I will.
